ABOUT THE PROJECT
A WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IS
BEING CONSTRUCTED IN RIZE
Designed by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and Rize Municipality, with Rize Wastewater Project, Rize protects its verdant nature and its future.
Rize Wastewater Treatment Plant will be constructed with the project co-financed by the European Union and Republic of Turkey.
With the Rize Wastewater Collector System being put into operation in March 2023 and Wastewater Treatment Plant being put into operation in July 2023, our wastewater will be discharged into the Black Sea in accordance with the legislation standards.
Thanks to this important investment, significant contributions will be made to the protection of both the health of people in Rize and future generations, as well as the rich ecosystem of Rize
This project will be carried out through the implementation of three contracts:
SERVICE CONTRACT FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPERVISION
Following works will be performed under two components as Component A and Component B, within the scope of the Service Contract for Technical Assistance and Supervision:
A Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Programme for Rize Municipality / Water Utility Department and Project Implementation Unit (PIU)
B Construction Supervision for Rize Wastewater Treatment Plant Collector System
WORKS CONTRACT FOR RIZE WASTEWATER COLLECTOR SYSTEM
Within the scope of the Works Contract for Rize Wastewater Collector System, construction of approximately 20 km of wastewater collector line, 1.5 km of special passing curvert, 3 km of transmission line and structure, 3 new pumping stations, approximately 500 manholes and automation system for pumping stations will be carried out.
WORKS CONTRACT FOR RIZE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
Within the scope of the Works Contract for Rize Wastewater Treatment Plant, construction of a wastewater treatment plant including physical, chemical and biological water treatment units with a capacity of 30,403 m3/day, sludge drying units, odour removing unit will be carried out.
